Intro
In our times, when society is confronted daily with violence, destruction, and aggression rooted in ethnic, political, or religious divisions, we, as creators, must affirm our obligatory commitment to humanity and stand firmly on the constructive side.
This open call aims to harness the jewelry medium to convey a message of peace. By showcasing pieces worn on the body and messages spread in the streets, we aim to make art an active presence in society. We strive to achieve this goal by cultivating society through art.

We want to show the power of peace manifestations as a shield against the chaos our society creates and give hope to all of us for a better tomorrow.

Where and when?
The exhibition Piece of Peace will be held in two locations in the spring. It will start at Munich Jewelry Week from March 12 to 15, 2025, and then move to a second display at the WearHouse, a brand-new jewelry initiative in Amsterdam.

The exhibition and the open call are curated and organized by Daniel Jirkovsky and Yotam Bahat, two artists located in Amsterdam and the founders of the WearHouse.

Important dates:
Open call deadline: 20.01.2025
Selection notice: 01.02.2025
The last day for the arrival of the accepted pieces is 15.02.2025
Exhibition in Munich:  12 to 15.03.2025
Exhibition in Amsterdam: will update the artists directly (not after June 2025)
Approx. send back the pieces: June 2025

All the exhibits are for sale. Art about peace should be spread out from the artist's bench- to the public realm.

Participation Fee:
In case of acceptance, we will kindly ask for a participation fee of 20€, which will go to fund the rent of the space. During the exhibition, in case of selling, the WearHouse will charge 30% of the selling price to cover the expenses for building up the exhibition. Please, make sure to include that in your calculations when deciding the final display price. All the extra earnings will go to fund the rest of the space renting and for future events.
Due to the nature of an international open call using photography as the medium, the curators reserve the right to refuse to show a piece if the submission is incompatible with reality.
*When the exhibition is over, the shipping cost of the pieces back to the artist will be paid solely by the artist.
