Intro
Registration is Now Open.
Portland has a powerful entrepreneurial spirit that encourages everyone to engage across all disciplines. From art and design to food and beer, Portland’s MADE community is unique. To celebrate this, the SNAG 2018 conference theme is MADE: Makers Across Disciplines Engage.

Dates of Conference: May 23rd-26th, 2018.

Portland, Oregon, known as “Bridgetown,” sits on the Willamette and Columbia rivers, in the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood. It is frequently recognized as one of the world’s most environmentally conscious cities because of its high walkability, an expansive network of public transportation, a large community of bicyclists, and one of the largest urban forests in the nation, Forest Park. Portland’s vibrant dining scene, which includes farm-to-table restaurants, food carts, microbreweries, and coffeehouses, is one of the most robust in North America. Known for its eccentric but laid-back vibe, the city’s art, theater, and music communities are thriving.

MADE: Makers Across Disciplines Engage focuses on materials, art, design, and interdisciplinary collaboration. While celebrating traditional and innovative techniques alike, we seek to engage makers and other creative individuals who push the boundaries of our field with a cross-media sensibility. Portland is a city that has a strong sense of community and is home to entrepreneurs and craftspeople alike. In response to this, we invite makers who work across disciplines to explore the unforeseen directions, inventiveness, and ingenuity within the metalsmithing field.
