This workshop is focused on experimentation and analysis of the creative process during the creation of jewelry pieces and small sculptures on the potter’s wheel.
We will analyze the different materials and working methods, we will use the potter’s wheel as an experimental tool, we will work in-depth on the concept of design as a fundamental part of the creation of a piece as well as its staging and we will examine composition options using recycled materials.

Dates: 5 - 7 of July, 2024.
Schedule: from 10h to 13.30h and from 15 to 18h.
Language: Spanish/English.
Place: C/ Joan Blanques 12, ground, Barcelona.
Price: 330 euros (all materials and firing included).

> Program:

First day:
  • Experimental demonstration on the wheel.
  • We will create a series of pieces to later transform into jewelry or small format sculptures.
  • Methods and techniques for working with porcelain, applying color. Special emphasis on finishing, sanding, and drying.
  • Firing of the works.
Second day:
  • Projection of different contemporary jewelry creators. Kiln opening.
  • With the pieces made the day before we will make a composition and shape study.
  • Assembling of the works adding both recycled materials or other objects brought by the participants (see the note on things you need to bring on the next page).
  • We will look for different creative compositional solutions.
Third day:
  • Finishing the pieces with the interaction of all participants. Creative solutions when exhibiting a piece of jewelry.
  • Staging of the elaborated works.
  • Debate with the participants and conclusion.

> What you need to bring:
Bring the usual tools to work on the wheel, as well as working clothes and an old towel. On the first day of the course, also bring materials collected from nature (dry branches, leaves, seeds, stones, etc.) You can also bring metal leftovers, chains, plastics, broken ceramics, threads, cords, ribbons, or any materials from home. that can be recycled to build up the jewelry works.

  • Once you have read all this information if you want to sign up for the course, please email us ( to confirm that there is still a spot available, INDICATING WHICH COURSE YOU WANT TO JOIN.  Once confirmed, you'll have one week to make a deposit of 130 euros to the account number that we will will be sent to you in the confirmation mail. 

  • The rest of the registration fee (200 euros) will be paid on the first day of the course in cash or BIZUM.
  • The preregistration fee for the course will be refunded only if the cancellation of the registration is made no later than one week before the course date. If the course is canceled, the amount will be refunded to the participants who have paid for the course.

Throwing skills is recommended but not mandatory for this course. If it’s your first time, don’t worry, we’ll help you out!
