Very short courses, from 1 to 5 days long. They are taught by LAO teachers, technicians and assistants, the contents are purely technical and provide a demonstration phase by teachers and a phase of experimentation by the students.
We have prepared a very comprehensive program with courses of all kinds, ranging from short courses of 1-5 days duration, to intensive courses of 1-4 weeks and unmissable seminars.There are many practical activities to choose from, such as jewelry making, engraving, stone setting, enameling, wax carving and lost-wax casting, as well as drawing, CAD design, and many other interesting topics that you can find on our calendar.
Short Courses and lessons
Whether you are a beginner or a professional, student, artisan or designer, we are confident that you will find the perfect course for your training or professional development. Thanks to our experienced teachers and artisans and our perfectly equipped labs, we are certain that the results will always be satisfying.
One of the not-to-be-missed events is the seminar on the granulation process held by the legendary David Loepp, universally recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in this art. We are delighted to welcome him for the third time to our labs, but hurry to book your spot because the places are limited to 6 participants.
Admission requirements:
Knowledge of Italian or English language.
Groups of students from the same country can ask to arrange lessons in their mother tongue: the school will provide an interpreter at the expense of the group.
The Flash courses can also be activated on requests by small groups for specific programs.
Materials and tools
The school provides (included in fee) all the useful big tool for collective use. School also provide nonprecious metal, silver soldering, semi-finished products.
Pure silver and 925 silver in sheet and wire, are available but are not included in the participant’s fee. At the end of the workshop, the students will reimburse the cost of the used metal to the school.
Students for practical courses and workshops should bring their own tools (tongs, files, bow and blade, sandpaper, welding clamps, all instruments for design, and anything else considered useful).
To have a detailed list of tools needed for the courses you are enrolled, please contact the school office.
In town, there are shops where you can buy tools and metals needed for the course.
The school can provide a toolkit for people who cannot bring their own tools.
A security deposit of 200 Euros will be paid by the arrival and will be refunded at the end of the seminar, after the return of the full kit.
Damaged or broken tools will be reimbursed to the school.

Seminars
The seminars are given by lecturers, and invited artists and are an opportunity to engage with important personalities in the world of jewelry, who offer their point of view and indicate research paths that become further tools for reflection and professional growth. This year master David Loepp returns to LAO with a seminar on the technique of granulation. Two dates are scheduled, one in May and the other in July, with the same program.
