In 2010, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its foundation the school published a catalog featuring the work of about 40 alumni.
Conceived and founded in Florence in 1985 by Giò Carbone, Le Arti Orafe is the most prestigious private school organising and running courses of various lengths in subjects relating to jewellery making and design, conceived along original lines that combine technical training, artistic research and contemporary design.
Jewellery teaching methods have been influenced and modified thanks to a completely innovatory approach which has left the old stereotypes behind and invented, tested and refined a creative, personalised way of learning, without losing sight of the acquisition of the techniques and concepts that ensure the level of training which every course sets as its goal.
Numerous techniques and approaches are addressed: it is not a case of learning to design and make a certain type of jewellery – the ‘Florentine’ or the ‘contemporary’ – but rather of acquiring the methodologies that allow production of, and experimentation with, all types.
The results of our teaching methods can also be assessed from the competitions, exhibitions and projects in which our students take part every year.
Since 1987 the school has been running courses leading to the award of recognised Diplomas issued by the Regional Professional Training Authorities. Only schools that are formally accredited can hold courses for the award of recognised diplomas.
