Intro
New Issue available, Vol 33 No 2.
Metalsmith serves as a platform documenting the art, design, jewelry and metalsmithing field. It is a vehicle through which those working in many different areas —galleries, museums, teaching at all levels, contemporary craft shows, retail venues, online venues, and non-traditional venues—share their ideas, insights and opinions.
For more than three decades, Metalsmith has been the critical forum for the studio jewelry and metalsmithing field. Its mission is to document, analyze and promote excellence in the field. Seventeen editorial departments rotate throughout the year so no two issues are the same, including artist profiles, thematic articles, the jewelry/metals scene around the world, inside artists’ studios and collectors’ collections, historical perspectives, guest observers, exhibition and book reviews, high fashion, and explorations by artists on topics of their choosing. You can count on Metalsmith to be smart, provocative, and beautiful.
