The solo exhibition Microcosm's elegant structures by artist Junmin Bae in Gallery Four showcases her recent work. Microcosm offers an impressive range of colours and shapes and Junmin Bae's work plays with the coexistence of beauty and grotesqueness.
Microcosm offers an impressive range of colours and shapes. Lately, images of viruses have been seen everywhere but cells, insect eggs, bacteria, algae and mold also offer a magnificent palette. Junmin Bae finds inspiration in the delicate structures of the microscopic world, the repetitions and the contrast of colours. She plays with the coexistence of beauty and grotesqueness, and with the positive and negative feelings that her objects might evoke.
