Intro
Each punch I make in the surface work against my intention. I try to nail it towards the ground but the metal wants to lift. I enjoy this backward working process, where we need to cooperate, the material and I. Give and take.

In these pieces I have taken care of the material that was left behind. I`m picking up some memories, reconstructing and then I start to give the material new life and new meanings. I have melted it down, pressed it towards fragility, let it crack and search for the hidden colours. The monotone treatment makes the thin and soft metal surface hard and sustainable and the motion of the nail-like tool that has been pushed towards the surface is captured within the contours of the piece. / Anna Norrgrann
