Authors of jewelry, designers, artists often use amber to implement their creative ideas. However, it is very different from the expressions of professional jewelry art and the limits of the possibilities of modern amber jewelry. Here amber is, first of all, a medium, provocative in its content, and not just a material object. Contemporary artistic possibilities and unexpected results are the main ideas of this project, which we hope will be attractive and unexpected for the art user.

Ugnė Blažytė, Ilze Egle, Jurgita Erminaitė-Šimkuvienė, Karina Kazlauskaitė, Alfredas Krivičiai, Solveiga Krivičiai, Sandra Malaškevičiūtė, Aušra Mačiulaitienė, Una Mikuda, Neringa Poškutė-Jukumienė, Vita Pukštaitė-Bružė, Birutė Stulgaitė, Šarūnė Vaitkutė, Kertu Vellerind, Sigitas Virpilaitis, Eglė Čėjauskaitė-Gintalė, Adolfas Šaulys
Klaipeda’s branch of Lithuanian Artists’ Association in cooperation with History Museum of Lithuania Minor takes a project that will be introducing contemporary amber jewellery in Klaipeda. Very symbolically, we invite you this Friday, on October 25th, 5 pm when the Amber Autumn accelerates, to the Amber room at the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor (Didžioji Vandens st. 2, Klaipėda), 3rd floor exhibition hall, in unique interior of the Fachwerk architecture building, where amber will play a major cultural, historical, artistic role in the exhibition, that is symbolically dedicated to commemorating the anniversary of the Baltic Way. Most famous jewelry artists from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are participating in this exhibition.
The main purpose of this exhibition is to popularize contemporary amber jewelry and to expand the artistic field of amber as an object through its various perspectives. Jewelry art exhibitions are not a frequent phenomenon in Klaipeda, as well as all over Lithuania, so with this project, we are extending the boundaries of and places of jewelry exhibitions and reach wider accessibility. We also symbolically commemorate our brotherhood by figuratively stroking the lavish coast of the Baltic Sea.
