While visiting a friend in London, we came upon a just published book entitled “The Ring” by Sylvie Lambert. This book became the impetus and inspiration for Mobilia Gallery’s exhibition, The Ring, presented in Cambridge, Massachusetts and then traveling in 2002, with an accompanying catalogue to: The Racine Art Museum, Racine Wisconsin, The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Colorado Springs, CA and The Ruthin Craft Center, Wales, UK. The Art of The Ring showcased the extraordinary vision and creativity of artists exploring the superb possibilities of the ring form.
The Art of The Ring, 2002’s success became the incentive to revisit this concept in 2019. The ring has been an enduring symbol of status, power and adornment throughout the world and a source of inspiration for artists from antiquity to the present.
