Graduation exhibition 2020 of Jewelry department of School of Crafts, China Academy of Art: "Thousands of years of ancient ideas". The jewelry department students who graduated in 2020 are new thinkers of this era. By exploring their own cultural background and inspired by Oriental aesthetic, they re-interpret their own tradition and create new possibilities for contemporary jewelry.

This year's bachelors students final works are the result of a field investigation on Shan Xi Buddhists temples, caves paintings, Architecture and so on. After analyzing and experimenting with different materials and crafts each student chooses a specific technique to create contemporary objects that are inspired by a millenary history.

Statement: The Author work on the style of a Song Dynasty bracket arch in Shanxi, focusing on expressing the characteristics of overlapping paving and mutual mortise and tenon, hoping to recreate the style and structure of the bracket arch in the language of jewelry design-a wearable building.

Statement: The inspiration for the creation of the work comes from the image of Neng Mian in Japanese Noh drama, Prajna face. Jealousy is human nature, but strong jealousy and resentment can distort people into resentful spirits or ghosts. Phase from the heart, kill the fear of jealousy, otherwise, you will be completely different.

The work shows the yearning for the beautiful and blissful world in the mural with the help of the cloud pattern and the characters in the mural.

Statement: The work is inspired by the crowns worn by the star god in the mural of "Chao Yuan Tu". The drawing of the crown shape refers to the historical shape, and uses the animal image to express the identity of the star god. The Author combines the silhouette of the animal with the crown of the head, so that the animal is off the plane and is three-dimensional on the crown of the head.

Statement: Buddha light can be placed everywhere in the Buddha statue, and the existence of light is reflected by flames and plant patterns in the backlight of the statue. I use the empty window enamel process to present the statue backlight pattern, and through the use of contemporary jewelry as a carrier and its wearability to activate the light of the Buddha image, thereby enriching the representation of the image backlight.
