Forests by day, by night; dark forests with moonlight and sunshine; dark forests with tinkling and waterdrop sparkles among the leaves and silk among the corners that move with the wind and unveil with the glow of the dew. Deep corners, present moments, past longings, undone anguish and finally, peace, just peace. That is the result of this exhibition - A series of jewels and sculptures that capture small details inspired by nature.
Artist list
Margaret Greenhill
Woven silver, woods, petals and dried leaves, recycled material; art and jewelry merge in Margaret Greenhill's work, handmade pieces that transmit the magic of moments and a meditative sensation of the present ... the extended minute and the suspension of time manifest in the approach that reminds us of the creation of the universe…
With this show, I would like to convey the value of simple things ... there is beauty in everything, even in spider webs and wood gnawed by termites ... it is a call for attention to the small, the details, the everyday, that which we almost do not see. It is an invitation to allow time to enjoy ... to be enchanted, explains the young artist.
One of the characteristics that define Greenhill's work is experimentation, as she explains: The technique for me is linked to the form follows the function, which is one of the premises of the Bauhaus; constructive technical coherence at the service of the concept, which is achieved when form and function converge in a visual poetry . There are no whimsical elements, there are technical answers to the concept or sensation that you want to convey.
About artist:
Margaret Greenhill was born in the South of Chile, where she incorporated the shapes of nature as a prism to interpret life. There, in the South, her love for the esthetics and art was born. She studied Industrial Design at Universidad del BioBio in Concepción. In 2014 she starts studying contemporary Jewelry at WE WALKA Escuela, and in 2015 was invited to participate in CH. ACO Chilean Contemporary Art Fair, the same year that she represented Chile at the Jewelry Art Biennial in Beijing, China.
