The forms of everyday are those interesting Esther Bott, for instance, the variations of screw caps. Esther Bott was born in 1964 in Frankfurt, where she still resides and works. After completing her goldsmithing apprenticeship at the Staatlichen Zeichenakademie Hanau, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Nuremberg, where she received her diploma in 1996.

An unusual constellation is found when these everyday forms come together, developing an entirely new materiality through the connecting surface of soft silicone. The COLOR takes over a substantial part in this transformation process, creating a pleasant confusion. The aspect of recycling plastic plays an important role for Esther Bott: thus, a printed milk carton is developed into the necklace, "Milk." Her most important materials are latex and silicone rubber in bright colors: "Chocolates" brooches, "Bottle Cap" rings, "Body-fold brooches" and "Gummy bears" bracelets all belong to the repertoire of plastic art, while amusing "Bath Objects" are cast in soft silicone rubber. Everyday trash such as plastic bags, fruit nets, or cable ties become alive through this skilled alienation, creating completely new associations for 'jewelry consumers.'
