Statment: Migrations, fractures, fragmentations, isolation, relationships, eclecticism, hybridity, accumulation, repetition, and rhizome networks are just so many evils, in so many words, that affect the population in the Caribbean. And my creations soak them all in, to simultaneously relocate, metamorphose and sustain the art and spirit of the Creole jeweler, contributing to the affirmation, both plural and singular, individual and collective of a lifestyle and way of thinking that would benefit from being researched more thoroughly beforehand.. Intro
The Contretemps exhibition presents creations and research by students graduating in 2020 with a DNSEP (National Higher Degree in Visual Expression) Master’s in Art, Object. Three of them are from the Jewellery workshop of the Rhine Higher School of the Arts, Aurélie-Victoire Celanie, Augustin Jans and Juliette Même.
