Intro
Through intuitive compositions Iris Bodemer creates wearable jewellery. The artist combines objects that  she has found and collected with metal and stones, in a reference to everyday life. After a series of exhibitions in 2014 at CODA Museum in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, and the Deutsches Golschmiedhaus Hanau, in Germany, it's time do Galerie Annick Zufferey present her body of work.

Artist list

Iris Bodemer
Iris Bodemer creates jewelry like she draws. This is how sculptures for the body are born; intuitive compositions become adornments - sometimes irregular, often asymmetrical,  always contrasting. Unusual and endearing creations jostle our vision and force us to see the jewel differently, especially with her "Ingredients" collection composed of objects she has found and collected. Originally it was all about a ring, a family heirloom whose new owner reduced its size to fit her finger with a strand of wool. This simple yet clever solution inspired Iris who loved its flexibility, strength and warmth and combined it with metal and stones. Iris cannot always explain the meaning of her work apart from the fact  that it is a reference to everyday life;  an image, a landscape, a thought; everything is art and everything is life. As she works, images and ideas flow spontaneously and come to life in her hands.
