Karin Herwegh
Inspired by folk art, Karin Herwegh makes small figures based on the customs and traditions of different cultures and periods. Figures that may be viewed as objects or small sculptures, or can be worn as a pendant, travel ‘companion’ or even as an amulet. Carved from a piece of wax and then cast in silver, these figures represent people or animals, their relationships to each other and the different ways in which this is shown.
As jewellery you have the figures on you, visible to others, or hidden as a Personal Token of its owner. The abstract design of the objects allows for various interpretations, out of which a personal bond may arise.
