For the first time in Switzerland NOD - not only decoration will present the exhibition Not only decoration: on full volume. NOD, a global collective of makers who create pieces that contest and discuss ethical consciousness across many topics from environmental to social, was founded by artists Stephie Morawetz from Austria and Laura Jack from Australia. We believe that jewelry has always been and will always have the potential to be more than just decoration, it has the capacity to convey a deeper meaning and to influence. This can be seen in our own personal works; Same Shit (Stephie) and Safe Passage (Laura) that will form part of the collective exhibit.

Our opening offers works from 30 artists that speak up about important issues facing the world today, proving that jewelry can be more than just an aesthetic for the body. These members are artists and makers from all over the world through jewelry and objects that deals with social and environmental issues, they will also experience that jewelry doesn't have to be only a decorative object for the body. Jewelry can be an amplifier for those who wish to add their voices to important topics and to do so through their work.

Gallery Cbijoux
The galleryhas been operating since March 2016 and is run by award-winning contemporary jeweller and all-round cool guy Cedric Chevalley. He also created the brand Diirt upcycling which is run out of a store right next door to the gallery. Cedric’s biggest achievement to date is stated by him as founding the brand in 2004 now run by a third party since 2013. In addition to the workshop and jewelry repair service, he also operates several galleries in one place: jewelry gallery, Diirt upcycling gallery, and contemporary art gallery.
Join “Nod” and “Cbijoux” at our exhibition and see for yourself that jewelry can be more than decoration. It can be loud. It can be insightful.
