Intro
The graduate class 2020 of the Jewellery Design College of the KunstModeDesign Herbststrasse shows their final diploma pieces in a virtual degree show. Due to current circumstances, this exhibition had to find a new location and found it on Social Media. Following one of our shows exhibited on Instagram in 2018, it was particularly appreciated the proximity to the visitors, the flexibility of the presentation, and the possibility of direct information.

The exhibition will take place within 11 days, from 21st to 31st of Dec, in which each student will take over the Instagram account @schmuckmelange.degreeshow for one day and will post photos of her work and an artist statement there. The limit will be of 3 posts per artist in order to be able to offer the visitors of the virtual exhibition a clear line despite the many different projects.

Statment: Warrior Women is a small series consisting of two diadems: Penthesilea (named after the amazon queen) and Diana (goddess of the hunt). Statment: Warrior Women is a small series consisting of two diadems: Penthesilea (named after the amazon queen) and Diana (goddess of the hunt). This jewelry is dedicated to all women who fight for themselves and their values. Who give other people strength and courage.

Maria Eisenbauer. Earrings: Octagon, 2019-2020. Silver, aluminum.. From series: The Measure of Things. Statement: This work is about proportions in jewelry, measured by the characteristics of size, weight, and shape. To determine the extent these dimensions influence the wearing comfort of jewelry, they were varied and applied to three different pairs of earrings. Lisa Harlander. Ring: Wiener Sprachbilder, 2020. Silver, gold plated.. 2.2 x 0.9 x 2.5 cm. Statement: This group of works pays homage to the Viennese language. Viennese may sound incomprehensible to many people, but it is unmistakable on the other hand. With the help of jewelry, this bizarre language and the feeling for “Viennese” as an attitude to life and language should be transferred. The jewelry objects of this group of works are a personal artistic interpretation of the Viennese language and represent a (not so serious) translation of it into the medium of jewelry.. With the colonization of South America, drastic shifts happened in societal structure and distribution of power. My piece of work focuses on oppression as well as on current struggles and resistances of women in Latin America against neo-colonialism and patriarchy.

Statement: Gold not only fascinates with its yellowish shiny surface but is also very tasty. As a refinement technique, gold does not even stop at delicacies. The jewelry pieces are inspired by the colors and diverse shapes of sweet delicacies. Within those pieces, the surface technique of gold leaf gets a glance into the artistic world of jewelry design.

The unique series includes clips and chopsticks that hold the hair in place. The sticks can be extended with various attachments to bring the wearers' hair into focus.
