Jewelers' Werk Galerie presents new work by Karin Seufert. This recent group of pieces is ongoing evidence of the artist's viewpoint and her commitment to a personal language and vision. The pieces are sure and mature in subtle yet significant ways, the textures and the forms, courageous, distinct and elegant.

The necklace reminds about a body whose flowing lines accumulate to symmetry in a round soft shape.
The form seems to have been originated by gravity, but it is just an empty shell without weight. The fine structure on the surface follows the curves of the body, coats it totally and gives it a furry expression. The shape seems to hide something mature, something that could have filled the emptiness beforehand.
The outer shape becomes a shell of this emptiness, a cover that blocks the view into the void.
The manufacture of the necklace points to the old technique of granulation in which the material, usually high-grade-gold, is first processed into small spheres. Subsequently, these spheres are melted onto the same alloy at high temperature to create a structure or pattern on the surface.
In my working process, I first make the small dots in different sizes and then I attach them with an adhesive that liquefies the surface like in granulation while fixing them on the base.
The different colors and sizes of the dots make the surface appear lively, like the lines in a whirl or in a paddy field.
