My work begins from a straightforward view. Each and every part of its body consisting of six legs, two feelers and skin… My desire to express it the way it synchronizes and integrates with my imagination. The discomfort resulting from being overly specific and explicit is expressed through the use of exaggerated size and unique texture.

Artist list
Yojae Lee
Yojae Lee’s work with various materials used together is completed after different materials are separately processed and combined later. The process that is needed to connect these different parts is sewing. The needlework of each stitch connects head, thorax and abdomen into a whole body of the insect, combining the different texture of pieces. Thanks to the characteristics of construction in the works, the artist could develop the style research through the material research and experiment visual and space expression. To an artist who works with metal, fabric, leather, beads and polymer clay, the material is not only a medium that contains material originality but also a source of process and experience inspiration.
