Intro
This exchange between the Escola d’art del Treball and the China Academy of Art is a globalization dialogue, believing that “global” and “local” is actually not irreconcilable.
Jewelry, since its very birth, has been deeply appreciated by human beings. People often say that clothing is the “second skin” of human and may initially find its very poetic grace in there, but think carefully and quietly, what on earth is it? Compared with clothing, how does it touch human body? Especially, the souls.

For thousands of years, jewelry has been developing along with human civilization in the times, from the Paleolithic age to the 21st century, some certain messages could be interpreted and read from every age of aesthetic preferences of jewelry. Until nowadays, jewelry may be presented in many ways, it is a kind of delicate handcrafts, it is the very mirror of art, it is the transformation of freedom and ideal, it is the ultimate beauty, and it is soul of perfection. I would like to draw an analogy which is not quite suitable probably, if there was a popular “toy” all across the human history, has been gaining the human’s favorites without a single moment to be left alone or thrown away, the “toy”, must be jewelry.

Needless to say, from the beginning of art, imitating nature is a positive and important factor which lasts for centuries. However, in my opinion, when it comes to jewelry, imagination or the effects of imagination is more pivotal and central. If the “imitation” is the clothes, that “imagination” is flesh; if the “imitation” is the body, then “imagination” is the soul, that is spirit. Any art forms without imagination, as if a bird without wings and fish without water.

This exchange activity between the Escola d’art del Treball (Barcelona, Spain) and the China Academy of Art are undertaken beneficially in the context of globalization dialogue. Believing that “global” and “local” is actually not irreconcilable, adhering to the thought of “Bring in and go out”, through the exhibition, both of us will enhance an understanding of each other about contemporary jewelry art, looking for cultural diversity in today’s era of opportunity for development. At the same time, the artists from very different culture backgrounds would hold tolerated attitude and being open minded, at the thought of being multiple interactions and keeping individuality, there, will be a deeper level of communication between us, it is between the East and the West, it is in our spiritual essence and, it is in our blood and bones.
