Intro
A new environment has a great impact on the art of these two artists. Both of them moved from The Netherlands to another part of the world. Gera Woltjer moved in 2008 to West Australia an Margo Nelissen moved to the Caribbean for three years.

Margo Nelissen, Gera Woltjer
Migration requires research and adaption to these new surroundings. It brings astonishment and new inspiration. The first works of art of both artists are inspired by the natural surroundings. Gradually their interests shift to internal processes: “How does migration and this new environment influence me? What feelings does it evoke?”
