The pressure to innovate is constant, and the main discourse is that innovation is the answer to current problems. However, whatever the innovation, the highest tech and state of the art items we wear, we are still human beings, and every morning we get up and get dressed to go out into the world and meet the social circles we live in.

Here is the state of art and innovative examples of the 1940s and 1960s that heralded great changes in materials and aesthetics. Dior looked to the past of his shapes but used new synthetics to achieve the desired look. Courreges looked to the future but was inspired by a child-women and not adult women for the shape and patterns of his clothes. Professor Elizabeth will also be based on her teaching and research at the College of Art and Design in Geneva to interpret and share more different views and explanations to our students.
