Intro
Jiro Kamata is already exploring his project to graduate in 2006 light and reflection in jewelry. In 2008 he created with the help of old camera lenses Momentopia. Since then he has been using them together with various other materials for jewelry.
In his work HOLON — an old Greek word that means 'heel' — Kamata uses camera lenses with a colored PVD coating. Through the shapes of the lenses, the mirror surfaces with color coating reflect and react to each other on the opposite sides of each lens, creating a unique illusion of depth and a three-dimensional hologram effect in an ever-changing pattern of reflection and color.

HOLON is a work, but also a continuation of 20 years of research and development. The lenses not only reflect our reality, but can also change our perception.

Through the concave and convex shapes of the lenses, the mirror surfaces with color coating on the opposite sides of each lens reflect and interact with each other, creating a unique illusion of depth and a three-dimensional holographic effect in a constantly changing pattern of reflection and color.

This Thursday Talks will exceptionally take place on Wednesday!
