The City of Jewellery: Award, Exhibition and Seminar

The Goldsmiths’ Guild, which was established in 1429 and is one of the oldest guilds in the world with a set of written laws, has given its fullest with regards to this year’s award ceremony. 
The Skt. Loye Award was instituted in 1989 with a view to focus on and acknowledge the many new aspects of an age-old trade. Since 2012, this prestigious prize has been awarded every three years to a Danish talent who, with vision and unique designs, gives the trade a fresh profile. The prize comes with 100,000 DKK and is accompanied by an exhibition and activities programme in Copenhagen. The aim is to present the many components of jewellery art and holloware – craftsmanship, artistry and design. 

The Skt. Loye Award jury of 2015 is: Jorunn Veiteberg, professor and art historian. Tine Kjølsen, Head of School of Design at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Annette Dam, jewellery artist and Skt. Loye 2012 prize winner Nicolai Appel, goldsmith and board member and Diana Holstein, jewellery designer and guild master.
