Bio
Having trained at the Danish Design School and worked for many years as a graphic designer, I felt a need for materials in my hands and changed direction. I graduated in 2008 from the Institute of Precious Metals, Copenhagen. I work in my studio in the centre of Copenhagen.Statement
Pursuing my passion for jewellery I combine my technical knowledge with a playful approach to human adornment, mixing in abundant quantities of stones - creating unique one of a kind pieces of jewellery. In addition, I teach and lecture.I often work with a frame story in which my jewellery exists. They are rarely alone… Much of my work, therefore, assumes the character of a story. Part of the story I work around is adornment. For me, there is something archaic in our human urge to adorn ourselves, something primal in jewellery - lust for gold and glitter - which for me is closely coupled to a zest for life.
I have been awarded several grants and awards amongst others from The Danish Arts Foundation and Denmarks National Banks Jubilee Foundation. My work is in the jewellery collection of the Danish Arts Foundation, the Danish Craft Collection and received a bronze medal Arts Award of 1879.
