As part of the ambitious development of the Sheffield Institute of Arts (SIA) we're looking for a jewellery and metalwork practitioner to join our friendly and close-knit community of staff and students.

Teaching on our BA Jewellery and Metalwork and MA / MFA Design (Jewellery and Metalwork), you'll design and deliver innovative, high quality and challenging learning experiences to equip your students with the skills, knowledge and qualities needed for a successful professional career.

You'll also have the opportunity to teach internationally, through our partnership with the Hong Kong Design Institute.

We are a successful group of jewellery and metalwork academics - all with a practitioner background - placing great value on teamwork and creative approaches to research, learning and teaching. Our courses are progressive, forward-thinking and industry relevant, combining theory with application and developing in line with current practice. We take a holistic approach to the student experience, aligning teaching with high-quality learning support and the best facilities. Our contemporary studios, workshops, and computer facilities provide students with creative real world learning experiences - allowing them to develop the key skills they need.

To join us you'll need to be a confident, outgoing person who understands creative practice and practical teaching and can play an active part in developing our subject area to achieve its full potential.

For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.
