What (doesn’t) matter – what truly matters to us, and what do we only claim matters?
In a world that constantly demands decisions, wants everything at once, yet rarely allows for real depth, “priority” has become a form of currency. But who decides what takes precedence — and at what cost We confront the uncomfortable question: which values truly guide our actions, and which merely distract us?
This exhibition does not seek to reassure. It challenges. It questions what we have accepted as self-evident for far too long and invites us to rethink our own priorities — perhaps even to redefine them.
What becomes clear is this: priorities in jewellery art are never purely aesthetic. They speak of identity, belonging, sustainability, and of what artists and wearers perceive as essential.
A total of 20 national and international jewellery artists.
Application:
Submissions can only be accepted via an online form on our website. The form will be available from 02.06.2026 until 26.07.2026 at the following link: https://www.plattform-schmuckkunst.at/open-call/
Photos: 4:5 (vertical format) / 300 dpi / at least 1.5 MB / copyright
Text: statement or interpretation of the work in the context of the exhibition theme / in English / maximum 800 characters
QR-Code: of the artist‘s website or social media
Conditions:
The jewellery objects must be thematically linked to the exhibition theme and title.
One jewellery object per artist can be submitted. Only complete applications that meet the formal requirements will be accepted.
The artists must pay for the production costs of the works themselves. The sales value per work is limited to a maximum of € 1200.
After the selection process, the pieces of jewellery must be shipped at the artist‘s own expense (including import taxes) and must be received by 21.08.2026. For the processing and handling of the return shipment and insurance during the exhibition period, a uniform participation fee of € 85 is due for the selected artists and has to be paid in advance.
The association is responsible for the entire exhibition design, advertising publication and photos of the works (print and online platforms), the supervision of the exhibition, as well as the sale of the works during the exhibition period.
