SMCK Magazine For Independent Artists presents SMCK On Reel, the first video festival inspired by jewelry open to artists, galleries, institutions to participate in the First International Jewelry Video Festival from 7 to 10 July 2022 at SCHMUCK / Munich’s jewelry week.
SMCK On Reel participation deadline has been extended to Sunday 15 May 2022 following the date change of Schmuck/jewelry week.
The medium video became indispensable to artists, designers, and crafters during the pandemic. Its importance in introducing the public to the artist’s world, concepts, and thoughts remain undisputed. Reels – the art of the moving image – deploy the artist’s narrative and enable the public to indulge in the maker’s work.
SMCK Magazine's SMCK On Reel video festival takes place during Munich’s “Schmuck” international jewelry week in July 2022. More than 40 international jewelry artists, designers, art institutions, and collectives have already been selected to participate in SMCK On Reel video festival from 7-10 July 2022.
The festival takes place at Weltraum, a multi-awarded art gallery in Munich. SMCK On Reel will be accompanied by a series of live performances inspired by jewelry and other crafts. Synchronously, all videos will be screened at Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein Munich.
SMCK Magazine #7 will feature SMCK On Reel participants and offer extensive coverage of Munich's “Schmuck” week. SMCK On Reel is curated by SMCK Magazine.
SMCK On Reel will be also screened at Grassi Museum Leipzig during the Grassimesse (21 - 23 October 2022).
