Intro
What would Mancunian materiality look like?
How can the city influence or instruct our making?
How can jewellery echo a sense of place?

If selected, this project encourages you to push your attitudes towards making, to challenge and capture a sense of place that is evolved from a ‘snippet of a snapshot of the city’.

Manchester is holding its first-ever Jewellery Week; we believe it is going to be the first dedicated Jewellery Week in the UK.

We are excited to be part of what is going to be an amazing jewellery festival and our exhibition will reflect this vibrant, exciting and creative northern UK city.

The main Manchester Jewellery Week will take place over two weeks from the 11th to the 20th of September 2026. Our exhibition will run from the 1st to 26th of September, so will capture an audience during, before and after the main events. If you are selected, ‘Snippets’ invites you to make 3 new mixed-media Art Jewellery work inspired by photographs that we have taken from the viewpoints of a Mancunian (Mark Mcleish) and a tourist to Manchester (Lynne Speake)

How to apply if you are not yet a member of Precious.Collective?
This exhibition is a members-only exhibition. Membership of Precious.Collective is free - just pop over to our website and complete a membership application form:  https://www.preciouscollective.com/membership.html
If your application is successful, we will forward you an application for this exciting open call.


Key dates:
- Early Bird Application deadline: 12th January.
- Final deadline: 14th February.
- Results announced: end of February.
- Work must arrive in the UK by: August 1st.
- Exhibition dates: 1st to 26th September 2026.


Fees:
Early-bird price: 12th January 2026: 20 euros / PayPal 25 euros.
After 12th January: 25 euros / PayPal 30 euros.
Please note: To qualify for the early bird fee, you must have sent us your complete application as well as your fee.
Exhibition fee if selected: 70 euros (PayPal 75 euros).
Exhibitors are required to cover all shipping fees.


Selection: All applicants will be notified of the jury’s decision by the end of February 2026. Jury: Lynne Speake, Mark Mcleish, Francesca Cecamore.


Selling your Work: 
The gallery takes a commission on all work sold: 60% to the artist 40% to the gallery.
Precious.Collective will not take any commission - all exhibition costs will be covered by the application & exhibition fees. Of the three works exhibited by each member, two of them (or all three) must be for sale, and one piece must retail at £100 (if sold, the artist gets £60 / gallery commission is £40).
