Learn the brick stitch bead weaving technique and create a beautiful pair of fringe earrings in this fun, hands-on workshop. All materials, tools, and a printed pattern are included.
Price: £160
1-Day Course with Eloïse Gleek
Date: 15 August 2026 from 10am to 4pm
About the course:
Discover the art of bead weaving in this immersive one-day workshop. Using high-quality Miyuki glass beads, you'll create a beautiful pair of fringe earrings while learning one of the most versatile off-loom bead weaving techniques: brick stitch.
Working step-by-step in a relaxed and supportive environment, you'll learn how to create a ladder stitch foundation, build and shape brick stitch beadwork, maintain even tension, follow a bead pattern, and add decorative fringe. Along the way, you'll gain an understanding of bead selection, thread choices, colour placement, and professional finishing techniques.
The project has been carefully designed to be achievable within the workshop, and most participants should complete a pair of earrings during the day. However, everyone works at their own pace, and if you don't quite finish, you'll take home your remaining materials and a detailed printed pattern so you can complete your earrings with confidence.
During the workshop you will learn:
How to work ladder stitch and brick stitch
How to shape beadwork and create symmetrical designs
How to read and follow a bead weaving pattern
Techniques for adding decorative fringe
How to secure and finish your beadwork professionally
Tips for selecting beads, thread, and findings for future projects
Included in the workshop:
A complete kit featuring Miyuki glass beads and all findings
A printed colour pattern and instructions
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments
Suitable for:
Beginners and improvers. No previous bead weaving experience is required, although reading glasses or magnification may be helpful when working with small beads.
By the end of the day, you'll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) pair of handmade earrings and the confidence to continue your bead weaving journey at home.
This course is delivered as part of our Summer School programme.
Please read the Terms & Conditions before booking the course.
