Intro
In this 4-day workshop, create small narrative dioramas using vintage biscuit tins, found materials, collage, and beading. Learn techniques in metalworking, layering imagery, 3-dimensional collage and textured assemblage. Drawing on personal or imagined stories, participants will complete at least one richly adorned object and gain practical skills for working with unconventional materials in a unique blend of jewellery, sculpture, and storytelling.

Anna Davern is a Melbourne-based jeweller and object maker. She has a Masters degree from RMIT Gold and Silversmithing and exhibits regularly and widely. Anna has been teaching for many years and runs regular sublimation printing workshops. Anna’s large scale diorama The Golden Lands of the Sunny South won the directors choice and the people’s choice awards at the 2017 Victorian Craft Award.
Anna explores Australian cultural identity in her jewellery and dioramas. She is interested in the miniature object and the incorporation of narrative and humour in her work.
