(...) You learn how to build a three-dimentional form by using different kinds of wax: cube, wire, plate and pearls. You can connect the different parts to each other by using heat. (...)
Each of our workshops offers an extensive introduction to a specific
technique or method of design. You will be completely immersed into
the subject matter and will receive plenty of background information,
enabling you to continue working independently afterwards.
Some of the workshops are open to beginners, as no prior knowledge or skill is acquired. In the advanced workshops specific techniques are developed for which you already need to master the basic jewelry techniques.
The studio works with 1 regular lecturer (Lotte De Mey) and several visiting lecturers. All lecturers have several years of experience in the subject matter that they teach and have proven both their artistic and technical merits. With these standards we can offer you a unique range of high quality workshops.
You learn how to build a three-dimentional form by using different kinds of wax: cube, wire, plate and pearls. You can connect the different parts to each other by using heat. This is a simple technique to create complex forms. You learn how to apply texture, saw and file.
When the pendant in wax is finished, it is cast in silver by a specialized firm, after which we have to finish it. The price of the silver is not included in the course. It depends on the seize of your piece. You can have something cast starting from 20 €. You decide how many pieces you want to make.
This is a beginners course. Everyone can follow it.
