An international, interdisciplinary platform, especially offering emerging artists the possibility, in workshops, exhibitions and symposiums, to develop new definitions for the concept of jewellery and to present them to a broad public.
Statement(Schmuck)2 is a non-profit organization run by Susan Pietzsch with a few members to support, is located at the Northern part of Germany.
(Schmuck) 2 sees itself as an international, interdisciplinary platform, especially offering emerging artists the possibility, in workshops, exhibitions and symposiums, to develop new definitions for the concept of jewellery and to present them to a broad public. Also it wants to permit unusual, diverse takes on the themes of "jewellery" and "ornamentation". Not only jewellery designers but also artists, designers and art-theorists, coming from different cultural backgrounds, are invited.
(Schmuck) 2 has set itself the goal, to promote a vibrant and multi-faceted image for contemporary styles of jewellery to the public, using unconventional concepts that move between fine and applied arts.
