Bio
Chao Hsien Kuo lives and works in Lahti, Finland. Mastering her skills across multiple international institutions, Kuo's distinctive use of anticlastic forming techniques creates jewellery with a strong sculptural quality. Her artistic practice draws inspiration from nature attempting to capture the gestures and engery of organic life.Statement
I have been building a garden of my own for many years. A garden of imagination. I collect the seeds of inspiration by taking close-up photographs of flowers and plants, which I encounter in my daily surroundings or during traveling. I like to observe how a bloom is “set” on the stem, how the petals unwrap to reveal the surprise enclosed, and how the leaves sprout from the branches, which I can almost hear the “pop” sound. I want to capture the gesture of a flower, and to depict the energy and liveliness of a plant.-
