Dieuwke Raats is an independent jewellery designer and goldsmith working out of her studio in the small town Goor, the Netherlands. She combines traditional hand tool methods, which she learned at the goldsmithing school at Schoonhoven, with contemporary methods.Statement
My jewellery is an expression of personal story’s. My desire is to create a wearable reminder of a special moment, person or thought in someone’s life. And that someone is sometimes myself. My design process is often process-driven but sometimes a personal story invites me to sketch first. My designs are simple and elegant.Habachtal Collection
As a 10 years old girl, she found Emeralds in the mountains of Austria, at the Habachtal. Many years she kept them in a small box. Now, after gaining much experience as a goldsmith, she gave them a special place in this jewellery collection.
