Bio
Born in Bulgaria and based in Antwerp, Belgium, with a background in Fashion Design, Ognyana was drawn to the more conceptual world of contemporary jewellery. Seeking the artistic freedom offered by the discipline, she enrolled in a course at KASKA DKO in Antwerp. There, the artist further developed her interest in material experimentation and found her personal visual language.Statement
My practice is driven by a philosophy of conscious impact and material transformation. I explore alternative ways to reuse plastic, embracing the challenge of transforming discarded materials and giving them a second life. Most of my work is built from small, basic shapes, often referencing modular patterns or repetitive motifs, which gives each project a transformative nature. This approach allows me to continuously discover new forms and compositions within my work.News!
