Bio
Rafika Hassan is a self-taught jewellery designer from Malaysia but currently residing in Heidenau, Germany. She founded her brand 'Rafika Weiss' in 2022, channeling her passion for abstract art and architectural forms into bold, wearable pieces. Her approach to jewellery-making is rooted in the principles of slow fashion, focusing on meticulously crafted, one-of-a-kind designs. Using a mix of Japanese glass beads with diverse materials such as gems, metals and leathers, Rafika's work blends traditional craftsmanship with modern and contemporary aesthetics. Each creation is a reflection of her artistic journey and emotions designed to resonate with individuals who appreciate statement pieces that elevate personal style.Statement
To me - Jewellery is more than an accessory. It's a personal statement. My designs are for those who dare to be bold, those who want their jewellery to speak for them. Inspired by abstract art and modern architecture, I create pieces that fuse elegance with edge, challenging traditional notions of luxury. As a beginner designer-artist, I'm constantly learning new techniques and pushing myself to create pieces from different materials. At the heart of my work is a commitment to artistry, innovation, while adhering to the principles of slow-fashion. I like to challenge myself with every new design, and I'm driven by the goal of one day being recognized as an jewellery artist with a unique edge.
My pieces reflect the stories we carry, the emotions we feel, and the choices we make. They are designed to be more than just worn - they're meant to be lived in. Through bold, meaningful creations, I aim to empower wearers to be who they truly are fearlessly, while continuing to grow and evolve as an artist myself.
