My name is Yael Kaduri and my studio is located in Jerusalem, Israel. I have come to the field of contemporary jewelry in recent years, as a continuation of a rich academic career. After completing a PhD in musicology (2004), I began teaching at the Department of Visual and Material Culture at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. My academic research and teaching revolved around the interconnection between music and image from philosophical and historical points of view. I will soon complete my undergraduate studies in the Jewelry Department at Bezalel. In jewelry, I find a special way of expression. The possibility of inserting a whole world, ideas and meanings, within a relatively small object is what fascinated me. The jewel for me combines concentration, accuracy, enigmatic essence and delicacy with communication and body-awareness.
