Attraction by Oles Tsura

Attraction takes many forms. In biology, it is the force drawing beings together—whether romantic, social, or physical. Emotional attraction binds people through shared values, while in physics and chemistry, forces of attraction hold planets in orbit and atoms in bonds.

In modern life, attraction is both natural and carefully curated. Fashion, makeup, and accessories enhance desirability—red lipstick, fitted silhouettes, and jewellery all serve as tools of seduction. Beauty rituals shape perception, emphasising personal appeal and masking imperfections. Both men and women use these strategies, blurring traditional lines of self-presentation.
Oles Tsura writes: Inspired by these ideas, I created a series of jewellery brooches shaped like lollipops—objects that spark nostalgia, joy, and connection. Their bright colors and smooth surfaces invite touch, evoking sweet memories and playful attraction. Are they real lollipops? Try them!

Oles Tsura (1993) is an artist born in Ukraine, with a lifelong passion for art and design. He began his artistic education at the Kosiv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, later earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Gemstones and Jewellery from Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Following his graduation, he worked for three years at a local gemstone-cutting company. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts at HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim, Germany. Oles continues to explore the intersection of design and art in his work and studies.

Puns and Encouragement Signs by Irina Lindqvist

I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The last three years of a bloody, unjust war—filled with a knot of insoluble contradictions—have led to a moment where Ukraine risks being forced into a "peace" that could make the division of the country inevitable. A nation with a long history of resilience is once again changing beyond recognition.
Everything that has happened in the past decade has compelled me to revisit my country's history, rethink its narratives, and shift my perspective. In this process, I found myself drawn to the study of historical war medals—tangible evidence of real decisions and their consequences. This research ultimately inspired a series of military medals crafted in textile.
Interestingly, many medals have been awarded for acts of civil bravery. One that particularly caught my attention was the Swedish Medal for Noble Deeds, introduced in 1832 to honour acts of personal bravery in a civilian context. It recognised not only the heroism of saving lives but also courage, resilience, and presence of mind.

Irina Lindqvist (1963) is an artist born in Ukraine based in Sweden. Lindqvist has a background in metal arts from the Estonian Academy of Arts (1994). With foundation in jewellery design, her practice spans painting, photography, sculpture, and textiles. In 2007, Irina was awarded second prize in the Design Forum jewellery competition in Stockholm, with an exhibition at Waldemarsudde. Her work has been showcased in museums, galleries, and cultural institutions across Europe, the USA, South Korea, and Brazil. She has collaborated with museum design stores and galleries in Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, and the UK. In addition, Irina has initiated international cultural projects fostering artistic exchange between Sweden and Ukraine.
