Intro
We are invited to a week of art jewelry to celebrate and show you what’s happening in the Danish art jewelry world right now.

Artist list

Hanne Behrens, Helle Bjerrum, Katrine Borup, Kim Buck, Christine, Annette Dam, Kasia Gasparski, Anne K. Hansen, Torben Hardenberg, Helen Clara Hemsley, Kaori Juzu, Marie-Louise Kristensen, Pernille Mouritzen, Therese Mørch-Jørgensen, Karina Noyons, Karl Ejnar Nybo, Gitte Nygaard, Camilla Prasch, Mette Saabye, Bo Sonne, Treokai, Josephine Winther, Lene Wolters
The Danish artisans have travelled far and wide during their apprenticeships and exhibitions, and we’re bringing all their experiences together at the gallery with our exhibit BOILING POT.

Here, you will meet each individual artist’s expression, feel their personal impression upon the melting pot of contemporary Danish art design. You will experience minimalism and ferocity, sensuousness and technique, lyricism and history. The jewelry is statement and work of art, both staged and on the bodies it will adorn.

We are letting the art jewelry take over Goldfingers - both the exhibition room and the workshop, to let the public into the very engine room of the craft, where immersion takes place, and sparks fly.

Mette Saabye. Brooch: Tears of Gold, 2016. Various gold alloy. 1.8 x 0.5 x 0.2 cm. Photo by: Dorte Krogh. We can express our feelings, and state of mind with tears.
. Scientifically tears are divided into three different types, based on their origin. Basal tears, reflex tears and emotional tears. Tears brought about by emotions have a different chemical make-up than Reflex and Basal tears.
. Emotional tears contain more of the protein-based hormones prolactin, adrenocorticotropic hormone, and Leu-enkephalins, a natural painkiller. No tears are identical and you can't tell if a tear is brought by in anger, sorrow or happiness. These tears of gold are all individual, and their karat are kept a secret. I will make it up to you to decide if your Gold Tear refer to a sad or happy memory, or simply caused by the action of peeling an onion.. Mette Saabye
