Intro
SCHMUCK Fair at the Internationale Handwerkmesse annually honours the Classics of Modernism with a retrospective exhibition. This year it is Daniel Kruger.

Artist list

Daniel Kruger
The 2019 recipient of the Klassiker is jewellery designer Daniel Kruger, from Cape Town. In 1971/72 he studied goldsmithing and graphic arts at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, 1973/74 painting at the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town and from 1974 to 1980 goldsmithing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich where he was taught by Professor Hermann Jünger. Kruger has been active as a freelance jeweller and ceramic artist since 1980, and has had various exhibitions at home and internationally. From 2003 to 2017 he was designing within a professorship for sculpture/jewellery at the Burg Page 3/4 Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. He is considered as a master of jewellery who plays with forms and impresses the viewer through diversity.
