IED Milan exhibits the final projects of the Jewelry Design graduates. Students with different creative minds display their jewelry collections transporting the audience into their inspirational world.
Artist list
Vlada Goretskaya, Anping Huang, Francesca Locati, Clara Morganti, Mu Zhang, Francesca Zilli
IED Milan presents the Graduation Show 2019 at the campus theater. The show includes a variety of work that represents the personality and interests of each designer.
The final project path runs throughout all the third academic year. The student is asked to choose a specific jewelry framework to focus on for the final project (contemporary, fashion or fine jewelry).
During the first semester, 3 teachers meet weekly the class for supporting the research, which ends up in the definition of the idea behind the collection, as well as materials, aesthetic and a work in the progress jewelry piece.
The second semester is dedicated to the production of the jewels. Each student is assigned to a supervisor, a co-supervisor and a technical tutor, whose expertise resemble the orientation of the student’s project and therefore can enhance the potentiality of the work.
At the end of the path, the student presents a body of work composed by the main collection and an edition pieces series.
Guiding teachers:
Giulia Savino, Serena Sala, Olivia Corio, Kiko Gianocca, Brunella Alfinito, Dario Mambretti.

From series: Framing Frame
The window is a frame that divides the inside from the outside. Metaphorically, it is a medium. It filters our view and the way we perceive the world. In my thesis project, I want to create a fine jewelry collection playing on the concept of frame and joint inspired by the perception of east and west culture.

From series: Humanity
Rings and earrings.
The project is about the use of light effect and technology to realize the cyberpunk aesthetic and concept. In this way to talk about the idea of humanity, and questioning the boundary between humans and ai robots. The mood of the project can be related to reality in order to show things imagined in cyberpunk culture are actually happening.

Brooches and pendants.
The still life photo by Federica Vuolo; The piece on body photo by Gaia Veronica Fossati.
“Quietivo” is the sublime feeling given by the mere, pure and ideal contemplation of the color blue while we are looking at the sea and the sky.
The color blue acts as a push and pull force during this process of meditation.
“Quietivo” is the invisible and imperceptible cosmos, infinite space, air, breath and silence.

The collection is about the relation between human being and the forest. While you are in a woods, all your senses perceive the power of nature: you can see the effect of the light passing through the leaves, hear the sound of the living creatures, smell the perfume of the plants. Earrings: Elena, Lili, Daria, 2019
Silver, hair.
Elena: 2.7 x 1.5 x 1 cm; Lili: 7.8 x 2.5 x 1 cm; Daria: 3.5 x 6.1 x 1 cm
From series: Invisible Touch
Still life photo by Claudio Morelli; The piece on body photo by Anna Ivanova.
Living at a distance with close people make you feel their invisible presence. Parts of their body and hair are transformed into earrings — jewels that can not be seen by the wearer. It’s a magical touch that gives you a powerful sensation of that person. He touches your skin invisibly, you feel the presence but you can’t see him. Metallic parts of the earrings are inspired by ear-parts shapes and have the effect of wearing someone’s ear. Hair and metallic ears confuse you. What’s real and what’s not?

Ring: Real? Unreal?, 2019
Black rhodium plated silver, mirror.
7.1 x 1.4 cm
From series: Look at You
Still life photo by Claudio Morelli; The piece on body photo by Martina Marzella.
Mirror retains a powerful ability to directly engage people.
Some take advantage of the reflective properties to explore, fragment, ask questions of perception, to create and distort space and environment, or allow people to contemplate themselves in their own reflections.
Look At You is about the involvement of human perception through the use of the sight.
People so often see their image reflected in the mirror but not always what we see in a surface reflected the reality of the things. The appearance is deceiving and in our reality, nothing is as it seems.
