The museum of contemporary jewellery in Cagnes-sur-mer is presenting a monographic exhibition devoted to Joël Faivre-Chalon (1953-2020), a renowned French jeweller and a key figure in contemporary jewellery.
Artist list
Joël Faivre-Chalon
Trained in Strasbourg and based in Montpellier, Joël Faivre-Chalon has never considered jewellery as a simple ornament: his jewels are the fruit of patient research into form (rather refined), technology and materials. Joël Faivre-Chalon was just as comfortable with brass and silver as he was with innovative materials such as titanium, Formica® and carbon fibre.
Thanks to a collection of archives, photographs, drawings, sketches and a corpus of works and prototypes generously entrusted to the museum of contemporary jewellery by the artist's wife, the exhibition retraces Joël Faivre-Chalon's artistic career and sheds light on his creative process.
Guided tours, workshops, a monograph (to be published in December) and a booklet distributed free of charge at the museum reception desk will help visitors discover the exhibition and the work of this artist who left his mark on his era.
Visiting hours:
- April to September 2 pm-6 pm.
- October to March 2 pm-5 pm.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays from September to June.
Closed Tuesdays in July and August.
Free admission - 04 93 73 14 42
