Artist list
Carolin Denter, Pia Groh
Newcomers are shaping the future - with innovative combinations, new discoveries and radical experimentation with materials and production methods. They are creating products that open up new ways of living. In future, we will enjoy and decorate our homes differently. We will wear unconventional accessories. Gain insights into the consumer goods of tomorrow at the Talents areas. 31 talents from 16 countries have been selected to present their work here in 2018. The exhibits will feature interesting material studies and imaginative products fashioned with craftsmanship - ideas that combine aesthetic qualities with solutions for an increasingly globalized and digitized environment.
In Hall 9.2 A61 the focus is on unconventional jewelry and fashion accessories, that's where the two artists, Pia Groh & Carolin Denter will show their work:
Pia Groh´s work focusses on the powerful symbol of the circle. The rotating and repetitive movements make her lose herself in the material stone, because of its strong and powerful appearance and its meditative making process. Combining soft colored stone elements with oxidized silver, she creates jewelry which appeals due to its lightness and minimalistic form language.
Carolin Denter´s works are dedicated to Kitsch! The artificial charm of kitsch is what fascinates her. The easy provoked emotions, the perceived pointlessness. The creation of her pieces is connected with learned reaction patterns, enriched by experience and emotions. This creates opulent, baroque-like collages from lavishly used heirlooms, recycled materials, and valuable materials. She wants to achieve pleasant absurdity. Regardless of these influences, she strives to create pieces to suffuse the wearer with proud and pleasure.
