Car enthusiasts John Paul Gonzales and Michael Furman come together for an exhilarating automotive exhibition. Allison and Ivan of Patina Gallery invite you to an exciting automotive event, Street Blue, with the world-renowned automobile photographer Michael Furman.
When the right person is on a bike, you can see and feel this strong, synergistic relationship between human and machine. The same with cars. When driven, the way that a car performs is so organic. That fluid movement is beautiful. There is an effortless beauty between the driver and the vehicle. —Michael Furman
Michael Furman has captured the world’s most significant cars with his lens for over 35 years. He tells the story from the perspective of designers and engineers—those who, in response to the social and political contexts in which they worked, idealized the cars of the future.
I first picked up a camera when I was 11 years old to photograph a car, but I didn’t get back into shooting cars until I was about 30. —Michael Furman
An opening reception to meet Michael Furman, where he will be signing two of his most thrilling automotive books, Badass and Face of Change.
Badass weaves an informative and entertaining narrative around automotives, exploring the unparalleled aspect of the beauty and importance of the rear end in a vehicle’s overall function and personality. The Face of Change is a compelling examination of the cultural, economic, political, social and technological factors that have affected the course of the automobile’s development over history.
Complementing the event, car enthusiast John Paul Gonzales will present a curation of up to 20 exceptional, unusual and rare models—all blue—parked along West Palace Avenue.
Celebrate Street Blue at the street-wide car event and artist reception.
