Chelsea Crafts Fair 2005.
Chelsea old town hall
Applications and the accompanying slides and the £16.00 application fee must be received at the Crafts Council no later than 6pm on Tuesday 1st March 2005.
The application form must be completed in full and returned together with six 35mm slides and the application fee. Should you be selected one of the images supplied will be used in the event catalogue. Please nominate one slide for this by placing it in the carrier slot number 6. A sample catalogue page can be found on our web-site:

Where applicants wish to share a stand the organisers reserve the right to nominate stand share partners. Exhibitors with larger work may apply for a second space, effectively a double stand, though few such stands are available. The allocation of display space is entirely at the organiser’s discretion. Applications should be checked carefully as they will be returned before selection if they are incomplete or incorrect. The number of applications greatly exceeds the exhibiting space available. The choice of the selection panel is final and the organisers cannot enter into correspondence regarding the outcome of individual applications. Selection will take place during March 2005. All applicants will be
informed of the panel’s decisions in writing by the end of April 2005. Please do not telephone for information before this date.
If you require an acknowledgement of receipt of your application or a VAT receipt for your application fee, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your completed form. Slides will be returned to unsuccessful applicants at the end of the selection procedure. Slides from applicants who are either offered a space or
selected for the reserve list will be retained until after the Fair.
Closing date for applications is 6pm Tuesday 1st March 2005

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Accepted exhibitors are required to read and agree to the terms and conditions of exhibiting at Chelsea Crafts Fair, which are available on our website or on request.

Check your application carefully, use the reply envelope and send:

• A completed application form
• Six 35mm slides, marked with name, dimensions, material and retail price
• A cheque for the application fee of £16.00, payable to ‘Crafts Council’
• A stamped addressed envelope if an acknowledgement or a VAT receipt
is required.

Organised by the Crafts Council, the Chelsea Crafts Fair is Britain’s principal fair for design-led contemporary crafts. It now attracts up to 22,000 visitors with total sales exceeding 2.6 million pounds. The event is for the promotion and sale of contemporary objects exclusively by those who design and make them. In addition to sales ‘Chelsea’ offers a significant opportunity for makers to promote themselves and often leads to other benefits such as teaching, residencies, export opportunities, exhibitions and commissions.
‘Chelsea’ has a sophisticated public audience and is an important event for trade buyers. Visitors expect to find a consistently high standard of innovative contemporary crafts at the Fair. Those exhibiting are expected to demonstrate creativity and individuality in their designs, and technical skills in the production of their work. Many overseas visitors come to ‘Chelsea’ and it is well attended by the press and media, and receives excellent national and international coverage. Being able to meet the makers themselves is an important element of the Fair and those selected to exhibit are expected to be available at their stand for the greater part of the event.
