Applications are now open for Getting Started Online: Free Business Course for UK Jewellery and Silversmithing Start-Ups.
The Goldsmiths’ Centre is now accepting applications for Getting Started Online, a free, one-week intensive business course for UK-based designer-, maker-jewellers, and skilled craftspeople looking to launch or grow their jewellery or silversmithing businesses. Running Monday 9 – Friday 13 March 2026 and delivered online, the course is accessible to participants across the UK and serves as a gateway to further opportunities, including Spotlighting Getting Started and Shine, while connecting participants to the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s vibrant creative community.
The course offers practical business skills and insights from leading industry experts. This year’s keynote session features Annie Warburton, CEO of the Goldsmiths’ Company, in conversation with British jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas MBE, sharing unique insight into building a successful jewellery brand. Participants will also explore topics including launching a creative business, developing products, branding and selling, unlocking sales channels, and taking next steps for growth.
Getting Started Online and Shine alumnus Gillian Finlay explains: ‘Once my family was grown up, I decided to go back to designing and making jewellery to fulfil my making ambitions. I was selected for the Goldsmiths’ Centre Getting Started Online course in 2022. This programme really helped to continually focus me, so that my path going forward was a stronger one, with much more clarity.’
Applications close on Sunday, 11 January 2026, at 5 pm.
Before applying, prospective participants can join a free live online Q&A info session on 6 January 2026, where they can speak directly with the course team and alumnus Gillian Finlay to gain insights into the programme and tips for a successful application.
