Intro
It is precisely these unique and ‘auteurssieraden’ which contribute to the further development in which jewellery art is seen as a fully-fledged part of modern art. It is not just consumers, but also curators of museums and collectors that find their way to SIERAAD ART FAIR..
Galleries at Sieraad
Participants of our annual International Jewellery Art Fair SIERAAD often tell us about the great jewellery galleries in their home countries. Participants are very enthusiastic about the gallery representing their work. But they do not stop there: every year we experience they're also great ambassadors for other galleries specialised in contemporary jewellery in their native country.

As our participants come from all over the world, we know contemporary art jewellery is rapidly getting a stronghold in every corner of this earth. As much as we like to, unfortunately we are unable to visit them all. We are probably not the only ones. As we service a broad and expanding artjewellerycrowd, we know they long for the same: they like to see more, without travelling all over to do so. So we want to offer our audience a one-stop-shop, by giving you the opportunity to present your gallery during SIERAAD.

There are no galleries present on SIERAAD at the moment: artists sell their work themselves and directly to the public. Our participants made a good case in -not as much changing our policy- but rather adding to it by allowing galleries to enter SIERAAD. We think these requests and suggestions are a real asset to everyone involved. Artjewellers themselves get the opportunity to be represented elsewhere. SIERAAD already acts as a platform. The public visiting SIERAAD gets the opportunity to see and buy much more then they bargained for. SIERAAD already includes exhibitions and special jewellery related events. Putting galleries into the equation adds authority to everyone involved. We offer an important cross-section of what is hot and happening in contemporary jewellery today.

You, as a gallery, benefit most of all. SIERAAD offers you a unique opportunity to showcase and sell work of your artists (those not present at SIERAAD) to a very dedicated audience of thousands of people in just 4 days. Every year SIERAAD is visited by contemporary jewellery lovers from all over western Europe (ca. 6800 people only coming in for jewellery and 80% of them actually buys jewellery). Coming edition (1-4th november) 120 participants come from all over the world. No wonder a growing percentage of the SIERAAD audience keeps coming back and add to their jewellery collections.

SIERAAD doesn't only draw a crowd that really saves up a whole year to spent it all on SIERAAD. It's also the place to be for fashionista's, press and tv (as participants of SIERAAD feature in a specialised series on national broadcasting), museum directors, curators and collectors. In its 11th year, SIERAAD has become an excellent platform for networking, selling and doing business.

SIERAAD Art Fair: looking, experiencing, enjoying, buying and coming back next year!

The 11th edition of SIERAAD Art Fair, held in the Amsterdam Gashouder from 1 through 4 November, recorded a brilliant result.

According to fair director Astrid Berens the influence of the recession was negligible. “It is remarkable that many visitors had reserved a budget beforehand. Most of them have been to SIERAAD before and come with the idea of buying something. Often they save up for this during an entire year”.

60% of the visitors are women and 40% are men. We find that couples mostly come during the weekend, and then it becomes obvious that men too enjoy looking around at this fair”. The average time visitors spend at SIERAAD is 4.5 hours. The direct contact with the designers is one of the most attractive aspects for visitors. The enormous variety in styles, ranging from the more traditional to explicitly artistic and experimental, also forms an inspiration for each visitor to find something to his own taste.

For the organisation of SIERAAD Art Fair, EMB&B Events, the location has obvious advantages. The Westergasfabriek complex is suffused with creativity and dynamics. This is precisely the place where designers from all over the world feel at home and which forms a beautiful backdrop for their work.
