Nowadays technology has completely taken over our lives. No matter where we are and where we go, we just can’t seem to take our eyes off our phones and tablets. You can search those beautiful landscapes through the Internet but you will never experience the sensation and the beauty of Mother Nature. In order to reflect the obsession of people seeing natures through phone screens. Heng Lee created his pieces by turning his own photographs into the mosaic, then hand sawed and laser cut the metal.
People are lacking socialization; instead of visiting nature and spending time with other people, we are getting all our information from social media. Although the images you received from the Internet are amazing. However, It cannot teach you the value of spending time with nature, or how to enjoy life to the fullest by being present in the current moment. You never know just how many opportunities and experiences pass you by because you are looking down at your screen.
This collection is similar to the Cyber nature collection. Heng Lee’s design focused on plants and flowers during his stay in Taiwan. He used the same laser cutting method and added a touch of embroideries into his work.
